Job Description

• Provide direct patient care to assigned patients within an urgent care setting.
• Perform and provide treatments for minor acute illness, patient examinations, making initial assessments, initiating treatment, and referring to appropriate centers of care when applicable.
• Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
• Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
• Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in the provision of continuity of care. May be required to supervise ancillary staff.
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions and refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care options as appropriate.
• Demonstrate good organizational skills in coordinating services with co-workers and other departments/services. Respond to stressful situations in a calm and rational manner and cooperate with all to facilitate integration of services.
• Behave in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with patients and secondary guests in line with Studer Principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing, required
• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Virginia or eligible, required
• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies required
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Virginia License or eligible, required
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
• Proficient leadership skills
