Emergency Medicine Provider

We are seeking a Doctor of Medicine (MD) to work at one of our partner facilities. Maxim Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Medicine provider that has flexibility and the ability to cope with a constantly varying workload in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively with nursing and physician staff in a professional manner, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to explain choices to patients and their families. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of working under pressure while making quick, accurate decisions independently. We are looking for a provider with experience working in a very busy, small community hospital. New graduates would not be a good fit for this assignment. The selected locum provider will be covering at Austin/Albert Lea (22 miles apart), as well as Owatonna and Red Wing.

Job Description

• ABEM; must be Emergency Medicine residency trained
• 20-25 patients per shift; 1.5-2 patients per hour; 18,000 ED visits per year
• Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
