Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant, an integral part of the team working closely with the cardiologist to provide expert cardiac care.

Job Description

• Escort patients to rooms and assist in determining medical problems
• Obtain pertinent medical records
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Take patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam rooms and instruments for examination and/or testing
• Stock supplies
• Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls
• Instruct patients and family regarding medications, test results, and treatment instructions provided by the physician
• Assist in the referral process
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved medical office assistant program
• Certification as a Medical Office Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants required
• BLS certification required
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification

Qualifications

• Minimum of two to three years relevant experience
• Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care
• Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications
• Skills in taking vital signs
• Ability to react calmly and effectively with physicians, patients, and co-workers
• Must be flexible and a quick learner
• Ability to multi-task and float to any position
• Demonstrates the ability to navigate several computer applications
• Ability to operate all technical office equipment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality in dealing with others, in person, electronically, and on the telephone
• Able to perform work accurately and within rigid time frames
