    Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehab - PRN

    The Cardiac Rehab Specialist/Exercise Physiologist is a professional clinician who specializes and assists patients in guided education, risk factor reduction, and exercise of Phases I, II, and Preventive Maintenance. The individual assumes responsibility and accountability for patients during clinic sessions and performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    Job Description

    • Assist patients in guided education and risk factor reduction
    • Conduct exercise sessions for Phases I, II, and Preventive Maintenance
    • Assume responsibility and accountability for patients during clinic sessions
    • Perform other related duties as required

    Requirements

    • B.S. in accredited Exercise Physiology program (M.S. preferred)
    • Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification
    • Current BLS, ACLS certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
    • 1 year previous experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation preferred
    • EKG/rhythm interpretation training required
    • Proficient in telemetry interpretation skills
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Physical and emotional stamina
    • Highly personable and outgoing
    • Comfortable speaking to large and small groups
    • Competent in computerized documentation
    • Knowledge in cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology preferred
    • Critical thinking and assessment skills
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
    • Ability to multitask and be a team player
    • Ability to motivate and educate people in the area of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
    • Self-starter with department-oriented tasks and goals

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree or better in Exercise Science

    Licenses & Certifications

    • C-ARC-BLS
