    Gastroenterologist with Internal Medicine Subspecialty

    We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist with an Internal Medicine subspecialty for a locum tenens position near Garfield, Washington. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physician looking to provide high-quality care in a flexible, supportive environment.

    Job Description

    • Start Date: February 2025
    • Duration: Ongoing, with the possibility of permanent placement
    • Schedule:
      • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
      • No nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities
    • Setting: Primarily outpatient, with the option for inpatient care
    • Patients Per Shift: Approximately 5

    Requirements

    • Board Certification in Gastroenterology with a subspecialty in Internal Medicine is required
    • Active Washington State medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
    • ACLS and BLS certifications required
    • Fellowship training preferred but not mandatory
    • Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 90 days

    Practice Environment

    • Collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes:
      • 1 Registered Nurse (RN)
      • 2 Medical Assistants (MAs)
      • 2 Advanced Practice Providers (PA/NP)
      • Office staff of 8
    • No supervisory or teaching responsibilities
    • Procedures:
      • Upper GI endoscopy
      • Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision
      • ERCP (therapeutic and diagnostic)
      • Small bowel biopsy
      • Optional outpatient procedures

    • EMR System: Epic
    • Temporary hospital privileges not available
    • Trauma Level: 2
    • Travel and lodging reimbursement (pre-approval required)
