    We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pathologist specializing in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology for a locum tenens opportunity. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a mix of scheduled clinical hours and on-call duties. The locum physician will provide coverage due to a long-term vacancy, with the potential for ongoing work.

    Job Description:

    • Start Date: January 13, 2025, with flexible start options
    • Duration: Ongoing need, offering potential for long-term engagement
    • Setting: Outpatient-focused, with requirements for hospital privileges
    • Call Schedule:
      • On-call rotation approximately 1:6 weekends
      • Weeknight call coverage 3-4 nights per month
      • 15-minute response time required when on call

    Clinical Responsibilities:

    • Daily Case Load: Expect to handle between 25-50 pathology cases per shift
    • Duties Include:
      • Surgical pathology
      • Gastrointestinal (GI) pathology, Genitourinary (GU) pathology, Neuropathology, Dermatopathology
      • Cytology (GYN and non-GYN), bone marrow biopsy/aspiration and interpretation
      • Pediatric tumor pathology, performance of fine needle aspirations (FNAs), and autopsy
    • Lab Medicine Duties:
      • Grossing or cutting frozen sections
      • Hematology (bone marrow and lymph node analysis), microbiology, and serology
      • Blood bank and chemistry

    Facility & Support:

    • Trauma Level: 2
    • Support Staff: Includes four office staff members, with no supervision required of advanced practice providers
    • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner
    • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days

    Requirements:

    • Board Certification: Required in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP & CP)
    • Licenses: Wisconsin license required, with a preference for candidates also holding a Michigan license for multi-site slide reading
    • Holidays Covered: Includes major holidays such as New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving
