We are seeking a Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant in South Carolina.

Job Description

• Position Type: Locum Tenens

• Shift: Days + On Call
• Start Date: 03/02/2026
• End Date: Ongoing (6-month contract)
• Patient Population: Adults
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital OR, Inpatient & Outpatient
• Responsibilities: First assist in cardiothoracic surgery, vein harvesting, suturing, pre- and post-operative surgical care, inpatient rounding, ICU coverage, and clinic duties
• Required Procedures: Open heart surgery first assist, vein harvesting, ICU and surgical patient management
• EMR System: Epic
• Support Staff: 4 physicians, 7 mid-level providers
• Days Per Month: Minimum 3 weeks per month required
• On-Call/Weekends: Weekday call 5%; weekend ER call 75%

Requirements

• Active South Carolina PA license
• Minimum 2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
• ACLS certification
• DEA license
• Clean background / MP history
