    Family Medicine Physician

    A community-based health center is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join a collaborative care team providing full-spectrum primary care to patients of all ages, including underserved and vulnerable populations. This role supports a mission-driven approach to healthcare, with a strong emphasis on continuity, access, and inclusivity.

    Job Description

    • Provide comprehensive medical care, including preventive and chronic disease management, to patients across the lifespan.
    • Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including outpatient management of HIV and other infectious diseases.
    • Participate in after-hours telephone triage coverage on a rotating basis.
    • Admit patients to affiliated hospitals when necessary and manage care as an attending physician.
    • Supervise and collaborate with mid-level providers and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Maintain complete and timely documentation, including EMR progress notes, referral forms, and regulatory documentation.
    • Participate in medical staff meetings, peer reviews, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
    • Engage in professional development and continuing medical education to maintain clinical competency.
    • Teach and mentor paramedical personnel when appropriate.
    • Maintain compliance with infection control practices and organizational policies.

    Requirements

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
    • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the State of New York.
    • Experience in an ambulatory care setting such as a health center, emergency department, or clinic.
    • Available to work one evening per week and occasional weekend shifts as needed.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable working in a team-based, collaborative care environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse populations.
    • Competent in prenatal care.
    • Experience providing care to individuals living with HIV is strongly preferred.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
    • Buprenorphine Waiver (or willingness to obtain).
    • Open to J-1 and H-1B visa holders.
    • Infectious disease background or a strong interest in HIV primary care is a bonus.

    Schedule

    Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    At least one evening per week required

    Weekend availability based on clinic needs.
