Registered Nurse (RN)
Sign-on bonuses up to $10,000. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients through utilization of the nursing process. You will provide age-appropriate patient care, participate in research when appropriate, and incorporate research findings into clinical practice.
Job Description
- Perform age-appropriate assessments.
- Analyze data to identify nursing problems.
- Provide direct patient care and develop individualized plans of care in partnership with patients and families.
- Evaluate patient progress toward attainment of goals, revising plans of care when indicated.
- Delegate patient care tasks to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel based on job description and patient needs.
- Appropriately supervise the performance of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Build teamwork when supervising and delegating to others.
- Document patient care according to policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate implementation of physician's orders.
- Precept new nursing employees and/or nursing students.
- Identify and resolve safety risks.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement, periodic review of policies, procedures, and pre-printed physician's orders.
- Assist with educational activities for other staff on the nursing unit.
- Perform other related work as required or requested.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the State of Illinois required.
- Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS Provider or Instructor certification required within one year of hire date.
Experience
- Meets credit range for Clinical Ladder levels as follows (12 months experience as a registered nurse is required in order to apply for promotion in the clinical ladder):
- Clinical Nurse I: Registered Nurse who achieves a range of 0-12 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid. BSN preferred.
- Clinical Nurse II: Registered Nurse who achieves a range of 13-24 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid with evidence of behaviors from at least two categories of the Grid. BSN preferred.
- Clinical Nurse III: Registered Nurse who achieves at least 25 - 35 credits on the Clinical Ladder Behavior Grid with evidence of behaviors from at least three categories on the Grid. BSN or 30+ years' experience required.
- Clinical Nurse IV: Registered Nurse who achieves at least 36 credits on the Clinical Ladder with evidence of behaviors from at least three categories on the Grid. Enrollment in BSN or MSN program or completion of BSN required.
