Job Description

• Provide psychiatric care to individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, including diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with mental illnesses.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and contribute to the overall mental health services offered by our facility.
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult patients, including diagnostic assessments and follow-up care.
• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, which may include medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and response to medication.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient interactions and progress thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR).
• Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and hospital-wide committees to improve patient care and hospital operations.
• Provide on-call support as needed to manage psychiatric emergencies and acute crises.
• Stay current with medical advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatments through continuing education and professional development.
• Provide supervision to psychiatry residents and advanced practice providers (APPs).

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Psychiatry.
• Board certification in Psychiatry (or eligibility to become board-certified) required.
• Valid and active New York State medical license.
• Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with current best practices in psychiatry.

• Salary range: USD $260,448.00 - USD $380,440.00 per year.
