LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
Find your calling at Mercy! The position serves as a lead role within the departments working in conjunction with the practice manager. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner licensed by a State regulatory board to refill medication and assist with treatment. Maintains professional accountability for provision during clinic appointments and patient phone calls. Coordinates the patient care/testing/procedures in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Job Description

- Refill medication and assist with treatment
- Maintain professional accountability during clinic appointments and patient phone calls
- Coordinate patient care/testing/procedures in conjunction with other departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; must obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification(s): One or more of the following may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- IV Certification within 1 year of hire
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
