Psychiatric Consultation Liaison RN
The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison RN functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of nursing. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Team RN is responsible for maintaining high standards as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison RN also coordinates care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Team RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Team RN provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support that directly or indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients, families, and significant others receiving care on inpatient nursing units. Patients served will be those experiencing mental health and/or substance misuse concerns.
Job Description
- Maintain high standards of care as described by the scope of practice.
- Coordinate care delivered by the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients and families.
- Ensure compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and institutional policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required.
- Current RN license from the State of Ohio.
- Current CPR certification required.
- State of Ohio license as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Counselor, or Social Work preferred.
- 1-2 years working in the field of Chemical Dependency/Behavioral Health preferred.
- Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills for interactions with patients, physicians, families, ancillary staff, and visitors.
- Self-directed individual who utilizes initiative, problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Proficient in treating patients with a non-judgmental approach.
