    Job Description:

    • Coordinate and direct Nursing activities in accordance with current standards of practice and all applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Duties include capital and operating budget development, policy development/revision, and quality Improvement.
    • Personnel management and staff development.
    • Participate in hospital committee activity as needed and act as a liaison between the Emergency Department, Physicians, and other Departments.
    • Serve as Nurse Administrator on-call (as necessary), providing leadership and management to personnel during off hours.
    • Responsible for daily core measures monitoring and staff compliance as well as additional standards and/or collaboratives such as stroke, sepsis, chest pain.
    • Ensure 24/7 patient care and facility employee availability to provide that care.
    • Care for patients regardless of the patient's personal characteristics.

    Requirements:

    • Desirable characteristics include 5 years RN experience, 2 of which were in critical care and 2 of which were in a leadership role.
    • Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to the patient's needs and to provide care needed as described in policy and procedure.
    • Must be able to function effectively under stress.
