    Behavioral Therapist/Mental Health Practitioner

    Job Description:

    • Provide direct 1:1 therapy and group therapy to children and adults affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
    • Work as a PCA, DSP, Paraprofessional, CNA, or Home Health Aide.
    • Position titles include Behavioral Technician, Behavioral Therapist, Behavior Therapist, ABA Therapist, and Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist.
    • Full-time: 8:15 am to 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday. No nights or weekends.
    • Part-time: Monday-Friday, 8:15AM-1:00PM or 12:00PM-4:45PM.

    Requirements:

    • Desire and passion for providing mental health services.
    • Ability to work in a group setting or 1:1 with clients.
    • Maintain professionalism with clients and their families.
    • Reliable transportation.
    • Ability to pass a DHS background check.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be at least 18 years old.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience with ASD and ABA Therapy.
    • Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields with at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in mental health services.
    • 4,000 hours of supervised experience in mental health services.
    • Graduate student in mental health professional disciplines assigned by an accredited college or university for clinical training.
    • Holds a master's or other graduate degree in mental health professional disciplines.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Frequent kneeling and bending (when toileting).
    • Quick response capability (for elopements).
    • Physically engaged for 7+ hours (fast-paced/on the go).
    • Strength for implementing physical holds for safety.
    • Standing for several consecutive hours many days.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    Community Overview:

    Founded in 1996, the Minnesota Autism Center (MAC) provides therapeutic services for children ages 18 months to 21 years with ASD. Services include speech and occupational therapy, assessment and diagnosis services, and individual and family therapy. MAC serves approximately 370-400 clients throughout Minnesota at 22 centers.
