Registered Nurse Manager
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team in providing high-quality patient care. Job Description
- Assist the Director of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the effective and efficient operations of nursing in the delivery of behavioral health care to all clients.
- Responsible for the clinical management of the milieu, coordination of client care and staffing according to predetermined guidelines, monitoring and functioning within budget, supervision of staff, and maintenance of regulatory standards in a manner that assures the deliverance of quality care in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure that all clients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.
- Monitor nursing practices and activities to assure quality client care. Communicate expectations of client care to staff.
- Manage the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
- Monitor time schedules to determine adequate staff and skill levels. Assure presence of adequate staff on all shifts according to staffing guidelines.
- Evaluate staff performance, initiate recommendations for hiring, promotion, suspension, and termination of staff. Utilize the progressive disciplinary process as necessary.
- Perform administrative or managerial functions such as planning and monitoring budgets and authorizing expenditures within budgetary guidelines.
- Monitor Performance Improvement initiatives and report information to the Nursing Executive and Director of Quality and Risk Management.
- Anticipate and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocate nursing resources based on measurement of client acuity/care needed.
- Provide consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to clients. Serve as a clinical and service resource to staff.
- Model expectations related to customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of client safety.
- Identify the educational needs of staff, develop and conduct educational or training programs.
- Assist with the development and implementation of department policies and procedures.
- Address employee performance issues at the time noticed and assist with any follow-up as necessary.
- Facilitate groups, if necessary.
- Prepare reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services, and quality initiatives of the unit.
- May work a shift on a specific unit when all other efforts in filling the shift with other staff have been exhausted.
- Audit and organize medication room to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and reduce the opportunity for medication errors or diversion.
Requirements
- RN with 4 years of experience required.
- Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Four or more years' experience as a RN required.
- Two or more years' experience in behavioral health required.
- Experience working with behavioral treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, chemically dependent, and/or dually diagnosed clients.
- Experience with medication teaching, management of the therapeutic milieu, and providing mandatory and voluntary in-service training.

Work Schedule
- Full-time schedule: Monday to Friday, 2 pm - 10:30 pm
- On-call rotation
License/Certification
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
