    Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinician-Educator

The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine clinician-educator to become part of their expanding division in the vibrant city of Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will have a pivotal role in educating the next generation of Maternal Fetal Medicine leaders while enhancing access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and the surrounding regions.

    With more than 40 physicians and researchers focused on Women's Health who provide care in the Lowcountry, MUSC Health is proud to have earned U.S. News & World Report national ranking as one of the top 20 hospitals for Obstetrics & Gynecology.

    In 2020, MUSC Children's Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women's and children's care in the region. Supporting the outstanding clinical care at our Children's Hospital and Women's Pavilion is the Charles P. Darby Children's Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas, and one of only 15 like it in the country.

    Requirements:

    • Board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine
    • Academic orientation, interest in teaching, and passion for outreach
    • New graduates are highly encouraged to apply

    Job Description:

    • Involvement in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
    • Join a collegial team of 11 MFM medicine physicians, APPs, and support staff
    • Clinic Schedule: 3 full days of clinic per week with approximately 15-25 patients per clinic with 1 day of admin time at the Prenatal Wellness Center or our outreach clinics
    • Call Schedule: one weekend day backup call and 2-3 weekdays per month
    • Inpatient Schedule: 4 weeks per year, one week per quarter
    • Travel throughout the state of South Carolina to provide Maternal Fetal Medicine care
    • No research requirement
