    Inpatient Medical Director

    Join our new hospital, a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation facility located in Louisville, KY. We provide customized intensive rehabilitation services to people recovering from disabling diseases or injuries, such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and complex medical and neurological disorders.

    Job Description

    • Attend team conferences covering regulatory clinical team to ensure compliance and pharmaceutical aspects regarding medications, patient safety, and quality of care.
    • Collaborate with the medical executive committee.
    • Review KPIs and discharges.
    • Focus on general physical medicine and rehabilitation.
    • Assess and manage patients with long-term functional limitations; develop a plan of care in consultation with other specialists.
    • Manage medically complex patients and care for a variety of rehab-related diagnoses on the unit.
    • Perform medical procedures, such as disc decompression, prolotherapy, and vertebroplasty to treat pain and improve physical functioning.
    • Lead a team of medical professionals, including physical therapists and occupational therapists, with the goal of optimizing patient care.
    • Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
    • Provide tools and guidance that allow patients to adapt and improve overall health and physical functioning.
    • Counsel patients and their families.
    • Additional procedural opportunities may include botulinum toxin injections, baclofen pump management, and EMGs.

    Requirements

    • Flexible structure: W-2 employee with benefits or without benefits, W-2 employee with APP or without APP, 1099 with APP or without APP.
    • Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities available; 36 hours per week is full-time - round in the morning and document from home.
    • "Locum" style travel contract opportunities available.
