    Paramedic

    Job Description

    • Provides advanced life support care to the sick and injured and safely transports customers of all ages to a medical facility.
    • Assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service.

    Sign-on Bonus

    • $4,500 sign-on bonus available. Current team members or former team members employed by North Memorial Health, Maple Grove Health, or Blaze Health in the last six months are not eligible to receive a sign-on bonus. Sign-on bonuses have a repayment commitment, and a prorated repayment is required if the commitment is not fulfilled.

    Requirements

    • Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution required.
    • Associate of Science degree preferred.
    • Previous ambulance experience preferred.
    • Previous advanced life support experience preferred.
    • For Air Care Paramedics, three years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required.
    • For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations, and work independently.
    • Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area.

    Licensure/Certification

    • Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
    • American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
    • Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification.
    • ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.

    Air Care Paramedic Requirements

    • Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date.
    • Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
    • National Registered Paramedic.
    • American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
    • Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire.
    • American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
    • ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
    • Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform.
    • Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.

    Salary Range

    Medical Transportation Paramedic Outstate ($30.00 - $41.50), based on experience

    Shift Differential

    Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.
