Crisis Clinical Therapist

This position involves providing critical crisis intervention and support services to individuals in need.
Job Description
- Perform crisis intervention, jail services access, and authorization.
- Work with law enforcement to provide case consultation, crisis intervention, service coordination, and referrals/linkage to resources for individuals requiring mental health/substance use-related supports.
- Conduct emergency on-site assessments of clients to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
- Provide mobile response to various community settings upon law enforcement's request/referral.
- Screen non-emergent requests for service and conduct initial clinical assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
- Provide new consumer initial orientation to CMH services, including the Person Centered Planning process.
- Collaborate with consumers in assessing their needs and developing treatment goals.
- Provide consultation to other community agencies and professionals as needed.
- Participate in Quality Assurance case review procedures and staff development activities.
- Maintain knowledge of mental health symptomatology, intervention, and treatment strategies.
Requirements
- Must be credentialed by NLCMHA to provide services in this professional discipline.
- Must have licensure with the State of Michigan as a licensed professional preferred: Licensed Masters Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Psychologist preferred. Limited Licensed Masters Social Worker, Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, and Limited Licensed Psychologist will be considered.
- Must have a master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited university.
- Two years of experience in the mental health field with experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
This position may require irregular hours and travel by personal vehicle if an agency vehicle is not available. The physical demands include occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs, stretching/reaching, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease, and frequently using hand/finger dexterity.
