Part-Time Outpatient Clinical Therapist

NLCMHA is seeking a part-time Outpatient Clinical Therapist in the Houghton Lake office. Individuals in this clinical position are responsible for providing case coordination, individual and group therapies, and crisis intervention to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders. This position functions as a member of a team to carry out the NLCMHA's clinical, crisis, and assessment services. This position reports to the Operations Manager or CCO as assigned. This position provides no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Job Description
- Provide effective individual and group therapy to adults with mental illness with an emphasis on evidence-based modalities
- Provide crisis intervention services as assigned
- Collaborate with consumers (and staff) in assessing their needs, develop treatment goals, objectives, methodologies, timeliness, and evaluate progress toward goals
- Provide consultation to other community agencies and professionals (police, courts, clergy, etc.) as needed
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of program services
- Participate in Quality Assurance case review procedures, including customer satisfaction
- Provide services to jail inmates and participate in jail diversion activities as needed
- Coordinate Person-Centered Planning, attending to the total spectrum of the individual's needs, including but not limited to housing, family relationships, social activities, education, finance, employment, health (including special needs), recreation, mobility, protective services, and document as appropriate
- Request when necessary, review of the individual program plan by the individual's interdisciplinary team
- Maintain knowledge of mental health symptomatology, intervention, and treatment strategies
- Must meet management expectations for position performance
Requirements
- Credentialed by NLCMHA to provide services in this professional discipline
- Must maintain necessary credentialing, licensing, and certifications to meet Federal and Michigan state regulations and laws in order to provide mental health services
- Must have licensure with the State of Michigan as a fully licensed professional: Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Psychologist, Limited Licensed Master's Social Worker (LLMSW), Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC)
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited University
- Two (2) years' experience in a mental health related field
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- This position may require irregular hours
- This position may require travel by personal vehicle if an agency vehicle is not available
- May be required to travel within the NLCMHA six-county catchment area

- Occasionally: Lifting up to 25 lbs with or without assistance, stretching/reaching, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease, exposure to hazardous material, stooping (bend at waist)
- Frequently: Hand/finger dexterity, talking in person, talking on the telephone, hearing in person, hearing on the telephone, vision for close work
Pay
$34.35 - $38.78 per hour
