    MRI Technologist

    Danbury Hospital is seeking MRI Technologists. We are growing and seek PRN and Part-Time MRI Techs with increased rates and shift differentials. The pay ranges from $46.90 to $58.63 for part-time and $51.59 to $64.49 per hour for PRN, plus shift differentials. Part-time employees accrue PTO benefits. PRN employees are required to work a mandatory 2 shifts per month, with 1 shift on the weekend mandatory (Saturday 7 am - 3:30 pm or Sunday 8 am - 4:30 pm). Part-time positions require 8 hours of work per week on Saturday or Sunday.

    Job Description

    • Performs high-quality diagnostic and accurate MRI procedures to help physicians in the care of their patients.
    • Provides optimum patient care.
    • Demonstrates knowledge and technical expertise to safely and correctly operate MRI equipment.
    • Performs and records daily QA.
    • Develops skills to practice in a safe clinical environment.
    • Develops skills in contrast administration.
    • Demonstrates self-direction and utilizes problem-solving techniques.
    • Cross-trained in another modality.
    • Maintains technical competency in less frequent order procedures (2 or more years of experience).
    • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Minimum Experience: One year.
    • Desired: Three years of experience in MRI; background in ultrasound or CT scan.

    Working Conditions

    • Manual: Significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
    • Occupational: Significant occupational risk.
    • Physical Effort: Very heavy effort; may exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
    • Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
