    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    NUWAY Alliance is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a full-time capacity at The Gables located in Rochester, MN. This role pays $30 per hour.

    Job Description

    • The LPN's role is to help educate and assist each client in achieving and maintaining their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through the provision of medication and treatment administration and through quality, personal care.
    • The LPN must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
    • Demonstrates and exhibits knowledge around medication administration policy and procedures and provide meaningful feedback to staff.
    • Recognizes the potential for substance use disorders to mimic a variety of medical and psychological disorders and the potential for medical and psychological disorders to co-exist with addiction and substance use.
    • Understands and exhibits knowledge around urine analysis and breathalyzer policy and procedure and provide meaningful feedback to staff.
    • Recognizes and applies the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in the treatment and recovery process.
    • Understands and applies the professional's obligation to adhere to ethical and behavioral standards of conduct in the helping relationship.
    • Applies a variety of helping strategies for reducing negative effects of substance use, abuse, and dependence.

    Requirements

    • Must have a current LPN license in the State of Minnesota.
    • Must be age 18 or older.
    • Must have current First Aid/CPR Certification obtained within 30 days of starting work.
    • Must be able to pass Minnesota DHS background study.
    • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Possess maturity, patience, understanding, and empathy with recovering individuals and work with a multidisciplinary team.
    • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time, daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment, lifting (max 25 pounds), minimal reaching, bending, and stooping. Ability to effectively navigate program or office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilities.
    • Conducts self in a professional manner.
    • Competent computer skills and able to effectively enter information in various systems.
    • Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English. Able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English.

    Preferred

    • Possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • One or more years of experience in substance abuse/mental health treatment.
