Gastroenterologist

Gastroenterologist opportunity in the Maine area to start in August through December.

Job Description

• Endo procedures in the OR and maybe one day per week in the clinic.
• Adults outpatient (office/clinic).
• Support staff: Full staff in the OR.
• No weekends, No Call.
• Looking for someone to do scopes.
• 14-16 patients per day in clinic.
• Onsite lab and x-ray.
• EMR: Epic.
• ERCP not required.
• Prefers a provider who does advanced procedures, but is able to utilize someone who does not.
• Willing to pay for full travel.

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED.
• ABMS or AOA Institutional ADR - Requested (All gender ADR should be 35% or greater).
• Active ME license - Highly Preferred (but will review licensing candidates of high quality).
• Provider must be available for the specific dates listed above - REQUIRED.
• ACLS, BLS - REQUIRED.
• COVID and flu vaccine - REQUIRED.

Additional Details

• Credentialing timeframe: 90 days.
• Anesthesia support: Both CRNA and an Anesthesiologist per Gastroenterologist.
• Required procedures:
  • Lowers GI Endoscopy.
  • Sigmoidoscopy.
  • Colonoscopy.
  • Required types of upper GI endoscopy: with Biopsy, with Foreign Body Removal, with Banding of Varices, Diagnostic.
• Would like a provider that does therapeutic procedures but will accept general.

Schedule

Provider must be available to work at least one week per month for the remainder of the year, and into 2026 - REQUIRED.

• M-F, 8 hour day with 30 min lunch.
• No Overtime, unless preapproved.
• Specific dates requested (must be able to work at least one of these weeks per month; ideal candidate would cover all requested dates):
  • August 18-22
  • August 25-29
  • September 2-5
  • September 15-19
  • September 22-26
  • September 29-Oct 3
  • October 6-10
  • October 20-24
  • October 27-31
  • November 24-26, 28
  • December 2025 through 2026: flexible.
