    Job Description

    • Follow established policies and procedures to perform and record echocardiology diagnostic tests.
    • Obtain information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnose disease.
    • Ensure echo exams are of acceptable quality and record results.
    • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served on their assigned units.

    Requirements

    • Registration as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and certification in one patient population.
    • At least one year of training in echocardiology specific to a patient population.
    • Requires BLS certification.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
    • Requires a professional level of knowledge of echocardiology techniques and must be able to independently perform diagnostic echocardiogram procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with patients to allay fears and elicit cooperation, and relay patient information to physicians and nursing personnel.
    • Requires analytical ability to recognize anatomic abnormalities, adjust equipment settings to appropriately target the ultrasound, and identify irregularities during the course of ultrasound and notify appropriate personnel.
    • Prioritize and organize daily workload while paying close attention to detail.

    Benefits

    • Expected pay for this position is $39.13 - $51.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
    • $20,000 sign-on bonus.
    • $2.50 weekend differential.
