    Job Description

    • Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases.
    • Provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings, including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics.
    • Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
    • Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to identify and implement necessary actions to achieve clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations.
    • Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
    • Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed and documented.
    • Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares studies for reporting by physicians.
    • Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
    • Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities of Level 2

    • Operates standard and portable radiology equipment to perform radiographic examinations and fluoroscopy studies.
    • Assists physicians and performs specialized imaging procedures.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves problems regarding equipment and/or film output.
    • Acts as a resource and preceptor for other Radiographers and/or students.
    • May participate in training programs to enhance radiology skills.

    Additional Responsibilities of Level 3

    • Maintains competencies required to perform essential duties of a Level II position.
    • Provides safe, high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions.
    • Performs as a shift or team lead for inpatient and/or outpatient duty locations.
    • Assists leadership with the development of clinical protocols and performance of image quality reviews.
    • Serves as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentor new or less experienced team members.
    • Coordinates operator and department-level quality control checks.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications (Level 1)

    • Education: Associate's degree or higher preferred. Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty. Candidates within 6 weeks of graduation may be considered for employment.

    • License/Certification: BLS must be current upon hire. Must meet eligibility requirements for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty.

    Minimum Qualifications (Level 2)

    • Education: Associate's degree or higher preferred. Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty.

    • Experience: Preferred one (1) year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional.

    Minimum Qualifications (Level 3)

    • Education: Associate's degree or higher preferred. Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty.

    • Experience: Preferred two (2) years full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics.

    • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions; must be able to consistently report to work as scheduled.

    • Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.

    • Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.

    • Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
