Job Description

• Responsible for translating patient medical records into the proper codes used by insurers to process claims.
• Assigning and sequencing codes accurately according to government and insurance regulations.
• Ensuring compliance with medical coding guidelines and policies.
• Reviewing patients' charts and documentation for verification and accuracy.
• Following up on unclear information with medical staff to ensure proper documentation.
• Compiling physician-provided information from various sources to prepare monthly reports.
• Completing RAF (Risk Adjustment Factor) coding to ensure proper identification and reporting of patient health risks.

Requirements

• A strong understanding of medical terms.
• Proficiency in computer skills including typing speed and accuracy.
• Medical coding certification preferred.
• EClinicalWorks (ECW) and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information.
• Strict attention to details.
• Knowledge of data entry and transcription.
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt to new responsibilities quickly.

Schedule

This position reports to the Billing Manager. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

Salary

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour.
