Job Description
- The Pediatric Registered Nurse Manager is responsible for the Organization's Pediatric program.
- Plans, organizes, and directs home care services and is experienced in pediatric nursing from birth through late teens, with emphasis on community health education/experience.
- Collaborates with the Administrator and other key staff to create a process to promote and ensure a pediatric-specific orientation.
- Collaborates with branch educator in the identification of skills for annual competency and in-service training specifically for the pediatric population.
- Oversees pediatric staff with annual review and manages day-to-day operations.
- Collaborates with clinical leadership and education with plans for in-service and continuing education programs to increase staff effectiveness and competency.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on pediatric standards and regulations.
- Utilizes evidence-based guidelines to advise on best practices for all clinical protocols for the pediatric population.
- Completes comprehensive assessments of patient and family to determine home care needs at regular established timelines.
- Regularly re-evaluates patient nursing needs and initiates the plan of care, making necessary revisions as patient status and needs change.
- Develops the plan of care with the patient's physician, establishing goals based on nursing diagnosis and incorporating therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions.
- Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures, administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, and provides health care instructions to the patient/family as appropriate.
- Identifies discharge planning needs as part of the plan of care development and implements prior to discharge of the patient.
- Knowledge of high-tech nursing skills applicable to various procedures.
- Communicates with the physician regarding the patient's needs and reports changes in the patient's condition.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university; Master's preferred.
- Current active and unrestricted nursing license.
- Minimum 3 years in Pediatric care in the acute and/or home care environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute or home care experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, basic math skills, nursing skills per competency checklist.
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications to communicate and document care.

Schedule
- Full-time position with day shifts from Monday to Friday.
Work Setting
- In-person outpatient care.
Pay
- $85,000 - $105,000 per year.
