    Speech Language Pathologist

    Job Description

    • Return patients to optimal physical function and facilitate achievement of patient, physician, and therapy goals.
    • Follow all health, sanitary, and infection control policies and maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration as well as Policies and Procedures.
    • Screen and evaluate all residents to determine the need for Speech, Language, or Swallowing Therapy.
    • Establish an individualized treatment program with consultation to facility staff in areas of Speech Therapy.
    • Provide results of the evaluation and treatment objectives to caregivers, family members, and residents.
    • Complete all documentation as required by the fiscal intermediary, within the designated time frame.
    • Implement the treatment program based on evaluative results.
    • Monitor the resident's response to treatment and alter the treatment plan as appropriate.

    Requirements

    • Must hold a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university and be licensed accordingly.
    • Previous experience in long-term care preferred, but not required.
