Job Description:
- Must be residency trained and BC (BE if within 5 years of residency) in Family Practice, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, or Emergency Department by AMBS (American Board of Medical Specialties) or AOB (American Osteopathic Board). No other alternate boards accepted.
- Comfortable with minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.), reading EKGs and X-rays. Onsite X-ray and EKG available.
- Must be comfortable with EMR. Epic training will be provided but only after credentialing and onboarding.
Requirements:
- Physicians: Residency training and board certified/eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds (this is required).
- Must be trained to see both adults and pediatric patients 6 months and up.
- Physicians who are board eligible must have completed board certification within 5 years of residency completion.
- Certification in relevant specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Board.
- Must be willing to work with medical assistants, scribes, and rad techs as support staff (no RN/LPN support staff).
Schedule:
- Up to 14 shifts per month. Preference for locums able to cover a significant number of shifts.
- Preference also to local physicians, since this is an ongoing assignment.
- Can schedule 4 shifts in a row.
- Centers are open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday (12-hour shifts) and 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (8-hour shifts).
- Physicians will not be granted any overtime.
Other Details:
- Urgent Care clinic; Provider must see patients 6 months and up for urgent care needs. Procedures include suturing, wound care, I & Ds, splinting, X-Ray and ECG over read, and placing IVs.
- Beautiful state-of-the-art centers that include lab and mobile X-ray with access to additional Mercy resources.
- COVID vaccination is "highly" recommended. The flu vaccine will be required at the beginning of this year (Mercy fiscal July-June) unless there is an exemption.
