    Position: Dentist

    Job Description:

    • Provide general and comprehensive dentistry services to children and adults
    • Assist with the development of clinical dental policies and procedures
    • Diagnose and evaluate dental conditions and maintain accurate dental records
    • Interpret x-rays and treat mouth diseases
    • Provide restorations and other treatment as needed
    • Perform emergency procedures on patients to reduce or eliminate pain
    • Assess treatment options and agree on treatment plans with patients
    • Instruct/educate patients in oral hygiene and dental care
    • Assist with the development and implementation of Dental Quality Assurance
    • Assist with training and evaluating assigned dental staff
    • Educate individuals in oral health-related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health-related disease prevention
    • Work to ensure patient satisfaction and maintain positive relationships
    • Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues, contagious diseases, and/or other potentially hazardous materials
    • Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and administrative management experience
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Graduate from an accredited dental school
    • Knowledge of public health principles and practices
    • Preferred 2-4 years of experience in a community health center or with underserved populations
    • Current dental licensure for the state of Illinois is required
    • Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and transportation to other clinics as needed
    • Bilingual (Spanish) language preferred
