Job Description

• Open FTE = Open shift coverage
• Shift length: 9- & 12-hour shifts
• On Call: None
• Inpatient Responsibilities: No
• Outreach: No
• Number of Physicians: 1-2 Physician coverage during day hours, 1 Physician coverage during night hours
• Number of Advanced Practice Providers: 1-2
• Supervision of APP(s) expected: Yes
• Clinic Provider Daily Volume: ED Volume averages 77 patients per day
• Job Responsibilities: ED Physician coverage
• EMR: Cerner Powerchart until June, then EPIC
• Teaching Opportunity: Teaching hospital
• Trauma Level: 3
• Facility Size: 250 beds
• Annual Visits: 33,000
• Peak shifts/busiest time is during 11 AM - 11 PM
• Transfer out less than 3% of patients
• Privileging timeframe: 60-90 days

Requirements

• Ability to get privileged quickly; no lengthy work histories (credentialing staff goes back 10 years) - Required at name clear
• Board Certified ABEM/AOBEM - Required at name clear
• Clean background - Required, noted at time of name clear
• Active IA License or IMLC - Required
• Fellowship Trained in Emergency Medicine
• ACLS & PALS are required through AHA; if ER boarded, ACLS and PALS are waived; ATLS required for trauma privileges
• Availability - Required at time of presentation
• Must be available for night shifts
