Radiation Oncologist
An established free-standing cancer center is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to provide locum coverage due to physician turnover. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a Level 2 Trauma community with full support staff and state-of-the-art systems until a permanent provider is hired.
Job Description
- Setting: Free-Standing Cancer Center
- Trauma Level: 2
- Reason for Coverage: Physician turnover
- Other Radiation Oncologist Present: Yes (2 physicians total)
- Support Staff: 1 NP in clinic
- EMR: Aria & Epic
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology REQUIRED
- Michigan State License or IMLC/LOQ REQUIRED (no exceptions)
- BLS Certified REQUIRED
- Must be available for listed coverage dates REQUIRED
Schedule & Coverage
- Open Dates: Dec 8, 12, Dec, and ongoing (01/01/2025 until permanent hire)
- Work Timings: Mon-Fri 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Call Schedule: 24-hour shared with one other physician (Call Ratio 1:2)
- Average Outpatients per Day:
- Average Inpatients per Day: 0
- Patient Population: Adult & Hospital Based
- Estimated Credentialing: Med staff will credential by start date; payer enrollment 120 days
Required Procedures
- Conventional Radiotherapy
- 3D Radiotherapy
- External Beam Radiation 3D-CRT, IGRT, IMRT
- Stereotactic Radiosurgery
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
- Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy
Required Duties
Order tests & images, prescribe treatments.
