Physician Assistant Surgery (Cardiothoracic)
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join a dynamic, patient-first surgical team. Job Description
- Provide perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients.
- First assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting (Maquet-Getinge system).
- Manage patient care in CVICU, surgical floor, and clinic.
- Two full-day clinics weekly, with additional patient coverage as needed.
- Operating room coverage Monday through Friday.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, and allied health professionals.
- Perform bedside procedures, order diagnostics, interpret results, and prescribe medications.
- Maintain accurate documentation and exercise independent judgment under physician supervision.
- Engage in ongoing CME to maintain advanced clinical skills.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies required.
- PA-C certification by NCCPA required.
- 3+ years of experience in cardiac/cardiovascular surgery & ICU management, or experience in EVH and first assisting required.
- DEA license required.
- Full prescriptive authority required.
- Unrestricted medical staff membership & privileges required.
- BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required.
- Eligible to bill Medicare/Medicaid required.
- No sanctions or exclusions with HHS/OIG or GSA required.
- Visa sponsorship not available.
Schedule & Coverage
- Full-time inpatient and surgical role.
- Monday through Friday OR coverage, with dedicated clinic and ICU responsibilities.
- No locums or locum-to-perm arrangements (permanent only).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,588 - $143,769 annually (based on experience).
