CT Technologist
RAYUS Radiology is looking for a CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will operate a computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. You'll be part of a team providing a wide range of screening, diagnostic, and interventional procedures with compassion and integrity to ensure the highest quality, access, service, and value to our patients, referring providers, and partners. You'll play an important part of that process by taking a patient-centered approach, providing technical support to CT services, assuring that services are provided within professional standards and with excellent customer service.
This position is part-time, working 64 hours a pay period, covering various evening and overnight shifts from 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, 4:30 PM-12:30 AM, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, and 7:00 PM-7:00 AM (no call!). With this rotation each month, you will typically have a stretch of days off in a row. We are willing to train if CT is a modality you are interested in learning.
Job Description
- Perform routine and advanced CT procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision or repeats
- Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination
- Explain and prepare patients for CT procedures, positioning them appropriately and providing support throughout the procedure
- Adjust scan parameters correctly as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
- Maintain positive attitudes and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates
- Converse with doctors, nurses, patients, and family members as required
- Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkers
- Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
- Maintain equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect equipment after each use
- Assist with maintaining an updated CT protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitor medical supply inventory and order supplies as necessary
- Assist with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform scanning procedures independently
