    Physical Therapist

    Job Description

    • Provide physical therapy services to patients according to a physician's written plan of care, including assessing and evaluating therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status.
    • Assess muscle strength, mobility, gait, and range of motion (ROM).
    • Direct physical therapy treatment and instruct patients and families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances.
    • Determine priority needs for physical therapy and report to the physician on the patient's reaction to treatment or changes in condition.
    • Initiate physical therapy and instruct other personnel and/or family/caregiver members in certain phases of physical therapy.
    • Prepare and submit clinical and progress summaries based on the attainment of goals as directed by company policy.
    • Participate in discharge planning for patients and maintain communication with other personnel involved in patient care.
    • Attend and contribute to in-services, case conferences, and other meetings as required by company policy.
    • Identify patient and family/caregiver needs and refer as appropriate.
    • Instruct patient's family/caregiver and other company personnel in the patient's treatment regime when indicated.
    • Supervise physical therapy assistants according to company policy and state regulations.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Possess a degree from a baccalaureate or Master's program in physical therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
    • Hold a valid and current license to practice physical therapy in the state employed.
    • Have two (2) years of clinical experience as a physical therapist.
    • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
    • Familiarity with general use and functions of computers, including starting programs, using files, apps, and navigating screens. Experience with Apple iPads and iPods is a plus.
    • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured according to state or organization requirements and is in good working order. Some travel may be required.
    • Must be capable of performing the job functions of this position with or without accommodation.
    • If applying for an outpatient position, you must possess an active AHA (American Heart Association) CPR certification.

    Schedule

    Full-time, 8 hours per day M-F; once every four weeks on-call weekend rotation.
