This position may be a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated crisis response, crisis stabilization interventions, and crisis prevention activities or services related to specialized populations that require intensive interventions.
Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision. Requires an unencumbered Nursing License. For certain behavioral health services, additional requirements may apply. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
Job Description
- Performs nursing functions and consumer care at the Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) including assessment, care, and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA.
- Responsible for helping individuals with their medication management and medical and mental health needs in a homelike environment.
- Acts as the liaison to community supports, including hospitals and medical professionals.
- Calls emergency services if the need arises.
- Assists with Quality Management by reporting clients' social, psychological, and physical behavior as indicated.
- Implements and ensures compliance with standards of nursing practice that promote optimal health care delivery and meet regulatory requirements.
- Implements policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with confidentiality regulations, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), national accreditation agency, and Continuous Quality Improvement.
- Attends applicable meetings as necessary.
- Directs communication with management and executives by establishing and maintaining frequent and regular communication with the Program Director and Assistant Operations Director as needed.
- Reports treatment difficulties to supervisor.
- Identifies and executes on growth opportunities by acknowledging and establishing areas of personal and professional growth in annual evaluations.
- Provides professional nursing care including assessment, care, and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA.
- Performs nursing assessments and interventions with medication oversight and administration as needed.
- Demonstrates proficiency in intervention techniques for both staff and clients in mediating problems or complaints; supervises clinical staffing, and provides other regular staff meetings for effective communication of information to staff.
Requirements
- Certified RN or LPN
- Five years' experience in the human services field working with individuals with behavioral and/or mental health issues (preferred)
- Valid driver's license
