About Our School-Based Program
As one of the largest providers of school-based therapy in our region, River Valley Counseling Center partners with 11 school districts in Hampshire and Hampden Counties to provide outpatient therapy and mental health care for children and adolescents. Your Role
As a School-Based Clinician, you will be an essential part of a dedicated team, providing mental health services to students directly in their schools. Your role will include:
- Conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, and developing personalized treatment plans
- Providing ongoing therapy to clients, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Utilizing strength-based, trauma-informed, and resilience-building strategies when working with clients
- Exercising cultural humility and respect in all interactions with students, families, and school staff
- Maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and legal regulations
- Coordinating referrals, advocacy, and case consultations as necessary
- Reporting abuse or neglect in accordance with Massachusetts law
- Participating in multidisciplinary team conferences and collaborating with school personnel to ensure student success
- Facilitating family consults and/or sessions for minor clients when clinically indicated
What We're Looking For
We are seeking compassionate, motivated clinicians who are excited about working in a school-based setting and supporting the mental health of children and families. Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Master's degree in human services, counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a related field
- 3 years of experience as a clinician preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong verbal and written communication, crisis intervention, and organizational skills
- The ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively with families, school staff, and other professionals
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards in the mental health field
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus, but not required

Hiring Bonuses
We offer competitive hiring bonuses to welcome you to our team:
- Up to $2,500 for Master's Level, Unlicensed Clinicians
- Up to $3,500 for LCSWs
- Up to $4,000 for Independently Licensed Clinicians (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, Lic. Psychologist)
- An additional $2,000 for bilingual clinicians
- Up to $10,000 in retention bonuses for eligible clinical roles
- Relocation Assistance offered for candidates moving from Puerto Rico to Massachusetts
