    Chair of OB/GYN

    Job Description

    • Provide guidance and oversight to OB/GYN physicians, midwives, and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and patient safety standards.
    • Oversee departmental operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and policy development, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
    • Lead initiatives to enhance patient outcomes through continuous quality improvement processes and adherence to clinical guidelines.
    • Develop and implement educational programs for medical students, residents, and staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
    • Collaborate with hospital leadership to set departmental goals and contribute to the institution's strategic initiatives, aligning with the organization's mission and vision.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with referring physicians and community health leaders to promote the OB/GYN services offered by UMMC.

    Requirements

    • Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
    • Active New York State medical license (or eligibility).
    • Current certifications in Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and any other relevant OB/GYN certifications.
    • 3-5 years of clinical experience in OB/GYN required. Leadership experience in a high-volume obstetric setting preferred.
    • Passion for delivering exceptional maternal and reproductive care and inspiring teams to excel under your leadership.
    • A focus on quality, patient safety, and innovation to drive improvements in OB/GYN care and patient outcomes.
    • Ability to build strong partnerships within the healthcare system, including with maternal-fetal medicine specialists, nursing staff, and the broader community.
