    Occupational Therapist

    An Occupational Therapist helps patients with physical impairments develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities through varying skills and techniques or using adaptive equipment.

    Job Description

    • Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients and develop or follow a treatment plan.
    • Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
    • Evaluate patient condition regarding physical and primary mental health and evaluate results and progress of occupational therapy on patients.
    • Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding the patient.
    • Demonstrate ability to work with senior residents.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association).
    • Current OT license in NYS - required.
    • Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients.
    • Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
    • Experience in long-term care - preferred.
    • Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
    • Strong customer service skills and compassion.
