Physician Advisor

RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated health system in New Jersey, is currently seeking Physician Advisors for part-time employment at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway. The Physician Advisor will form a collaborative partnership with local and corporate administration, the medical staff, and the case management department leadership. This partnership will provide a comprehensive clinical resource management program that includes utilization management, progression of care management, social work services, and complex discharge planning.

Job Description

• Establishing and maintaining a standardized practice for Physician Advisor Services:
  • Throughput/Length of Stay
  • Observation Hours
  • Next Site of Care planning
  • Leading multidisciplinary rounds
• Participates in the review and development of medical guidelines and policies geared toward quality and efficiency of care

Performance Metrics

• Meets defined Length of Stay goals:
  • Medicare LOS to align with Geometric/Arithmetic Benchmarks
  • Commercial LOS
• Meets organizational goals for hours in observation
• Meets goals related to Next Site of Care

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible and Valid NJ License
• 2+ years of clinical practice experience
• Previous utilization management experience in an acute care setting
• Prior leadership experience required
• CHCQM certified
• Knowledge of CMS regulations and knowledge of nationally accepted guidelines such as MCG and InterQual
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $125,000 to $135,000 per year. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
