    Location: Portsmouth, Virginia

    Job Description:

    • Work under the direction of a qualified professional nurse
    • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
    • Communicate and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
    • Ensure high client safety standards and maintain a therapeutic environment

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to clients
    • Assist in health and psychiatric teaching for clients and families
    • Share responsibility for nursing care plans
    • Communicate effectively with medical staff and participate in team conferences
    • Prepare, administer, and document medications accurately
    • Observe and report any clinical or physical changes to the R.N. in charge
    • Perform vital signs, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy/labs, and diabetic/glucose monitoring

    Additional Duties:

    • Assist with patient admissions and discharges
    • Lead health and psycho-social education groups

    Qualifications:

    • Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing Program required
    • One or more years' nursing experience preferred
    • Knowledge and experience with psychotropic medications and administration procedures
    • Ability to apply nursing standards in a recovery setting
    • Valid practical/vocational nursing license
    • CPR and de-escalation certification required
    • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements
