Diagnostic Sonographer
Our Diagnostic Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all ages, according to approved protocols, ultrasound exposure, safety, and established exam indicators. Schedules and obtains history from patients. Evaluates the appropriateness of requested exams and assists radiologists. Maintains knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high-quality exams. Provides effective internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity. Some travel between sites is expected.
Job Description

- Schedule and obtain history from patients
- Evaluate the appropriateness of requested exams and assist radiologists
- Maintain knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high-quality exams
- Provide effective internal and external patient communication
Requirements
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-ARDMS) required; if registry not currently held, employee must be registered within one year as a condition of continued employment
- Abdomen (ABD) and Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) registries as provided by the ARDMS required within one year of employment
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS or as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
