    Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant - First Assist

HRRMC is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) - First Assist to work PRN in our Surgical Services Department.     Job Description

    • Perform as the First Assist under direct supervision of the surgeon, following the Nurse Practice Act of Colorado and AORN Position Statement.
    • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe operations and exceptional patient outcomes.
    • Deliver superior nursing care in all areas of the Surgical Services Department.
    • Work seamlessly with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient experiences.

    Requirements

    • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant license with surgical assisting experience preferred.
    • Nurse Practitioner (NP) is required from an accredited nursing program and two years of perioperative nursing experience.
    • Successful completion of an NPFA program that meets the AORN Recommended Education Standards for NPFA programs or two years of experience as a documented First Assist.
    • Required annual minimal competence is 250 documented hours.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Current ACLS certification.
    • Current PALS certification.
    • Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License in Colorado.
    • Unrestricted DEA Registration Certification.
