Job Description
- Treat patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses, developing specialized skills.
- Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, as well as OT and COTA students.
- Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
- Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
- Monitor patient's response to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed.
- Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid, current license in the State in which they are practicing.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Eligibility to take or has passed the examination for Occupational Therapists administered by the NBCOT.
- Successful completion of the National Registry Examination.
