    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    Job Description

    • Administer treatments and medications while leading a team of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA).
    • Maintain meticulous record-keeping, including required LPN forms and charts upon a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other significant events.
    • Accurately prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
    • Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including coordinating transportation and packing as necessary.
    • Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, application and changing of dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, and care of the deceased or dying.
    • Collaborate with the facility's consultants as needed and implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
    • Investigate and address complaints and grievances, submitting necessary oral and written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
    • Conduct daily checks on all residents to ensure that prescribed treatments are administered correctly by nursing personnel/assistants and to assess their physical and emotional status.
    • Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.
    • Present a professional image to consumers through your attire, behavior, and speech.
    • Uphold company standards for resolving consumer concerns and ensure the protection of all consumer/resident rights.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with a current LPN licensure in the state of practice.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a willingness to work with and supervise both professional and nonprofessional personnel.
    • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
