Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Location: Sheridan Memorial Hospital Transitional Care

Job Description:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care
• Maintain a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse or other Registered Nurse
• Implement directions from the nursing staff and physicians for direct and indirect patient care
• Meet the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and professional guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to provide patient-centered care
• Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills
• Assist with patient care duties: vital signs, positioning, transporting, etc.
• Perform admission duties and ensure accurate patient information in hospital systems
• Create and maintain a positive and calm environment throughout the unit shift

Quality and Service:

• Optimize patient safety and reduce the likelihood of healthcare errors
• Complete documentation that meets current standards and policies
• Perform treatments and provide services within scope of practice
• Communicate appropriately with all health care team members

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Current unrestricted Wyoming Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) License required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum six months related work experience preferred
• Central Registry required

Skills and Additional Information:

• Effective communication in English; additional languages desirable
• Basic computer knowledge
• Effective organizational skills
• Exposure to blood/body fluids, infectious disease, and hazardous waste possible
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening required

Schedule: Full Time, Days, 7am-7pm, 36 Hours
