Location: Sheridan Memorial Hospital Transitional Care
Job Description:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care
- Maintain a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse or other Registered Nurse
- Implement directions from the nursing staff and physicians for direct and indirect patient care
- Meet the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff
Essential Job Functions:
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and professional guidelines
- Collaborate with other departments to provide patient-centered care
- Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills
- Assist with patient care duties: vital signs, positioning, transporting, etc.
- Perform admission duties and ensure accurate patient information in hospital systems
- Create and maintain a positive and calm environment throughout the unit shift
Quality and Service:
- Optimize patient safety and reduce the likelihood of healthcare errors
- Complete documentation that meets current standards and policies
- Perform treatments and provide services within scope of practice
- Communicate appropriately with all health care team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current unrestricted Wyoming Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) License required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum six months related work experience preferred
- Central Registry required
Skills and Additional Information:
- Effective communication in English; additional languages desirable
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effective organizational skills
- Exposure to blood/body fluids, infectious disease, and hazardous waste possible
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening required
Schedule: Full Time, Days, 7am-7pm, 36 Hours
