    Job Description

    • Support the delivery of urological services and function as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team.
    • Perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical offices running smoothly.
    • Confer with physicians, nursing, and other staff members to coordinate and schedule patient appointments.
    • Greet and prepare patients for their visits.
    • Measure and record vital signs.
    • Record patient interviews, history, and chief complaints.
    • Provide patient education regarding medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets.
    • Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
    • Assist physicians with exams and perform phlebotomy and collection of lab specimens.
    • Conduct basic lab tests and EKGs.
    • Assist with X-ray and physician therapy procedures.
    • Prepare and administer medications with physician authorization.
    • Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures.
    • Use CPR skills when necessary.
    • Maintain accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
    • Open the office in the morning and close in the afternoon.
    • Maintain patient logs for lab requests, CT scans, and other treatment orders.
    • Ensure good flow in the back office, keep rooms full, and assist with room turnover.
    • Perform thorough work-ups for new patients, including x-rays and vital signs.
    • Update medical history for all new patients and established patients.
    • Ensure accurate room set-up for physicians and update patient medication before visits.
    • Handle set-up for in-office surgical procedures and ensure consent forms are completed correctly.
    • Scribe as assigned per physician office flow.
    • Prepare for seeing patients the following day, including patient confirmations.
    • Complete patient medical record requests when necessary.
    • Assist in the orientation and training of new personnel.
    • Ensure proper hand-off of responsibilities once tasks are completed.
    • Meet established attendance criteria and start work promptly.
    • Respect and acknowledge the organization's commitment to cultural diversity through behavior, language, and actions.
    • Demonstrate good use of time and resources while adhering to HR and corporate policies.
    • Ensure all medical records are accurate and complete for all patients.
    • Comply with healthcare regulations, medical laws, and high ethical standards.
    • Support compliance and accreditation efforts as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required.
    • BLS certification required.
    • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program required.
    • 6 months of experience working within a physician's office desired; urology experience preferred.
