Non-Invasive Cardiologist
Looking for a board certified/board eligible fellowship trained Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join our well-established, hospital-employed Heart & Vascular practice. Providers in the practice include Yousef Kaid, MD, Matt Watson, DO, Tarun Nagrani, MD, Jay Hamze, MD, Marion Hochstetler, MD, Jeremiah Martin, MD, Joe Herrmann, DO, Paul Rase, NP, Amy Spencer, NP, Linda Lester, NP, Amanda Williams, NP, Jade Kirkpatrick, NP, and Becky Kalb, NP.
Job Description
- Base salary of $562,453 (50%tile MGMA for those just completing training) with additional compensation for experience, guaranteed for 2 years. Can be switched to a wRVU production contract when exceeding target.
- Base salary of $695,227 (75%tile MGMA) guaranteed for one year and then switched to a wRVU production contract.
- 5% less for those not yet boarded; salary adjusted accordingly upon board certification.

- 29 PTO (paid time off) days. Additional 5 days PTO when producing 75%tile wRVUs.
- 5 days PTO and up to $5000 for CME/Books & Journals.
- 457b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $23,000 year before taxes. No matching.
- 403b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $23,000 year before taxes under age 50 and $30,500 for over age 50. SOMC matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay.
- $10,000 paid to moving company for moving expenses.
- Malpractice insurance coverage in a claims made insurance, in an amount of $2,000,000 per claim/$6,000,000 aggregate.
- Physician pays a small premium for health insurance, deducted from paycheck.
- 70 mile and 2 year non-compete clause or liquidated damages of one year salary.
- CERP (Pay for Call) Program explained by VP of Finance.
- Excellent bonus incentives up to 10% of salary.
- Medical school loan repayment up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment).
- Residency stipend up to $25,000 (requires up to 2 year service commitment).
- Sign on bonus of 15% of base salary up to $100,000 (paid when contract signed and forgiven over 2-4 years).
Practice Information
- Outpatient clinic located on the main campus of the hospital at Braunlin Building Suite 206 Portsmouth, OH 45662.
- Office hours are from 7 AM to 6 PM Monday through Thursday and Friday from 7 AM to 12 noon.
- Staffing includes 7 Physicians (Interventional, Non-Invasive, CT Surgery, Vascular Surgery), 6 Advanced Practitioners, 11 MOA, 2 EKG Techs, 15 LPNs, 5 CMAs, 3 Surgery Schedulers, and 2 Surgery Assistants.
- Call schedule includes a 1:3 weekend rotation and a 1 night/week rotation. Eligible to earn additional compensation by joining our CERP (Pay for Call) Program.
- Outpatient clinic case load is approximately 10 patients per day; inpatient based on hospital census; procedures range from 4-6 per day.

Hospital beds: 248 staffed. Service area: 250,000. Not-for-profit established in 1966. Employs over 2700 staff with over 300 medical staff.
Teaching opportunities are available as SOMC has medical students, residents, and advanced practitioner trainees. Staff are eligible for Clinical Adjunct Faculty status with Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
