    Bone Densitometry Technologist

    Job Description:

    • Operates Dexa equipment by performing Dexa procedures, evaluates images for technical quality, analyze images, complete patient history sheet and exam in RIS, and is able to answer patient, technologist and radiologist questions.
    • Prepares and positions patient for Dexa procedures.
    • Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
    • Moves imaging equipment into specific positions following the radiologist protocols and adjust equipment controls to produce images of proper detail, density and accuracy.
    • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
    • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to "World Class Customer Service".
    • Prepares images for Dexa Quality Control, radiologist and requesting physicians.
    • Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and arranges for repairs as needed.
    • Completes forms and maintains records, logs and reports of work performed.
    • Restores prior images and performs rate of change as needed per SMIL radiologist protocol.
    • Must be flexible to work at multiple locations and varied shifts.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
    • MRTBE (CRT), ARRT (R), CPR certifications

    Physical Requirements:

    • Regularly required to talk, hear, use hands, fingers and arms to handle, feel and reach, standing, walking, bending, and sitting.
    • Must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and on occasion lift or move up to 50 pounds.
