    Job Description:

    • Perform CT examinations of the body for diagnostic purposes under the direction of a physician
    • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
    • Position and immobilize patients in exam scanners and observe during scans for patient safety
    • Monitor video display of the area being scanned and adjust techniques to improve quality
    • Review and evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic purposes
    • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staff
    • Answer patient, technologist, and radiologist questions
    • Go beyond duties to do what is best for patients and the department
    • Verify exams for completion in PACS and complete charting work in RIS
    • Demonstrate correct usage of necessary equipment to perform procedures
    • Follow protocols requested by Radiologist
    • Use communication tools to allow patient and technologist communication during examination
    • Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, and position of entry into the computer
    • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed
    • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and arrange for repairs as needed
    • Be flexible to work at multiple locations and varied shifts
    • Perform all other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
    • MRTBE/AZDHS certification
    • ARRT board certification in CT (must be obtained within 24 months if not already certified)
    • CPR certification
    • I.V. skills
